In life's journey, slumps were an unavoidable passage. In my younger years, I tried to overcome them by constantly running, working, and striving for results. But as time passed and experiences accumulated, my approach to dealing with slumps changed.
Paradoxically, the most effective way to overcome a slump was to 'rest'. Over time, I realized that our bodies and minds sometimes need a break. Now, I live almost like a Buddhist practitioner. Even when immersed in work, I don't hesitate to rest when fatigue sets in. Sometimes I take a quick nap in my writing room, or if drowsiness hits in the afternoon, I allow myself a siesta.
Our bodies are honest. When our ears droop listlessly, lips crack, and eyes become cloudy, it's our body crying out for rest. At such times, we should take a break without hesitation. It's good to go somewhere nice, eat something delicious, and find some peace of mind.
For me now, the concept of a 'slump' barely exists. Unlike when I was younger and working in an office, I've now become a free spirit, liberated from such constraints. All that remains is physical fatigue.
Resting is not laziness. Rather, it's an investment for a better tomorrow. Listening to the signals our bodies and minds send, and taking appropriate rest - that's the secret to a healthy life and the wisdom to overcome slumps. Life is like a marathon. Sometimes we need to pace ourselves and run with long breaths.
Now that I keenly feel the preciousness of time, every moment is so valuable that sometimes even sleeping feels like a waste. But at the same time, I don't forget the importance of rest. This balanced approach to life is what continues to help me grow and drives me towards new challenges.
