Standing at the twilight of my life, looking back on the path I've traveled, I realize I never set out with a grand motto or family creed. Instead, I simply used the words of the Bible as my compass, taking one step at a time. Yet, in this moment, I've come to recognize a single belief that has permeated my entire existence.
"Live diligently and humbly, always giving your best."
This simple sentence encapsulates everything about my life. As a pastor and as a human being, I've always strived to adhere to this principle. There were times when it was difficult and exhausting, but this belief always gave me strength.
I wanted to pass these words on to my children. But time flew by, and before I knew it, they had grown into adults, tall enough to look down on me. I find myself smiling when I look at them, knowing that even though I may not have explicitly said it, they learned this lesson through observing my life.
It's not grand words or remarkable achievements, but rather the diligence and humility in everyday life, and the attitude of giving one's best in everything, that truly creates a life of value. The world may constantly change, but these values will remain steadfast.
Reflecting on my life, I feel grateful. It wasn't perfect, but I lived according to the values I believed in, and that's what made my life meaningful. Finding one's own beliefs and living by them - that's the key to enriching one's life.
This approach to life didn't just result in personal satisfaction. It positively influenced those around me. Diligence, humility, and giving one's best earned the trust and respect of others. This was true not only in professional relationships but also in family and social circles.
Especially in my life as a pastor, these principles were even more crucial. Whether dealing with parishioners or preparing sermons, I always kept these principles in mind. As a result, many people listened to my words and placed their trust in me. I believe this wasn't simply due to my abilities, but because I prepared and practiced with a diligent and humble attitude, always giving my best.
